DELIVERING VR TO HELP OTHERS DURING DIFFICULT DAYS

America is carrying a rising wave of senior loneliness, and it is hitting families and care teams harder every year. Many older adults spend long days without meaningful interaction, which chips away at their confidence and sense of place. When the connection fades, everything else slows down. This sense of disconnection is why innovations that rebuild human presence matter. The San Diego 4.0 VR for Good campaign gives seniors a way to feel part of the world again. Seniors don't simply watch a park or hiking trail. They "enter it" to feel movement, space, and life around them.

Our campaign becomes a bridge. You learn how to deliver moments that lift a person out of isolation and anchor them in something real. When a senior explores a coastline, a garden, or a mountain trail in VR, they regain energy and curiosity. These small experiences build trust, support caregivers, and restore a sense of belonging that many seniors have lost.

San Diego 4.0 is building the future of care through connection, and the VR for Good campaign sits right at its heart. We are creating three distinct VR experiences that bring seniors back to the places that once shaped their sense of belonging. The first category is our Parks Collection. These experiences place seniors inside the beauty of Balboa Park, Mission Bay Park, and small community parks across the county. Seniors who can no longer travel easily still feel the movement and energy of San Diego’s outdoor spaces. They see color, hear life, and reconnect with the city they love.
